Rosemary is the author of AG Wine for Chablis and Northern Burgundy. One of the first women to pass the Master of Wine exams, back in 1979, Rosemary became a freelance wine writer in 1981 and has since published eleven books. She is an expert on wines from many regions of the world, including the Languedoc, Chablis, Tuscany, and New Zealand. Her blog is featured on AG Wine’s free RSS Reader “Wine News” App.
Jonathan is the author of AG Wine for the South of France (Languedoc, Roussillon, and Provence). A graduate of UC Davis, he is also the author of ‘The Wines of Roussillon’ and ‘Discovering Wine Country: South of France‘, plus assorted book chapters and articles. Jonathan has taught at universities in England, Belgium, Spain and France. He was born in Yorkshire and live in Argelès-sur-Mer, in the South of France, and Lisbon, Portugal. He is a translator and interpreter to the wine trade; a writer on wine and travel; and an occasional host of wine tours and tasting events in Roussillon. When not involved in the wine trade, Jonathan squeezes in time riding his red Harley-Davidson motorcycle and scuba diving in the Red Sea. Ryan, the author of AG Wine for Oregon’s Willamette Valley, is the creator of Northwest Whites, a website dedicated the white wines of the Pacific Northwest. Having grown up in the midwest, he followed his passion for wine to Oregon’s Willamette Valley. Always the explorer seeking to learn more, he has traveled around the United States, through France, Spain, and Italy. Ryan holds the Advanced certification from the Wine & Spirits Education Trust, is certified as a Spanish Wine Educator, and is pursuing his sommelier credentials with the Court of Master Sommeliers. He is also the managing editor for Palate Press: The Online Wine Magazine and contributes to several other print and online publications. Michael A. Schaefer, CWE
Michael, AG Wine’s Senior Wine Educator, holds both the Certified Specialist of Wine and the Certified Wine Educator designations from the Society of Wine Educators, an international organization dedicated to the promotion of wine knowledge. He also holds the Higher Certificate from the Wine and Spirits Education Trust, of London; and has been an instructor for the WSET at both the Certificate and Higher Certificate levels. He is currently studying for his WSET Diploma level exams. Michael has lectured extensively, in the United States, as well as internationally on a wide variety of wine related subjects. He often speaks at the national conferences for the American Wine Society, the Society of Wine Educators, and other food and wine organizations. Sean, the author of AG Wine’s profile of Washington State, is a freelance writer based in Seattle, Washington. He is also the creator and writer of the Washington Wine Report, a independent publication started in 2005 and devoted exclusively to Washington Wines. Rob, the author of AG Wine’s profiles for France’s Alsace, Jura, and Savoie regions, is a freelance writer based in Boston, Massachusetts. He is also the creator and writer of Fringe Wine, a blog devoted to exploring wines made from unusual grapes or in unfamiliar regions all over the world. He is a graduate of the University of Georgia (BA) and Harvard University (EdM), has recently passed Level 2 of the Wine Studies Program at Boston University’s Elizabeth Bishop Wine Resource Center with distinction, and is currently working towards his WSET advanced certification. David, one of the creators of Approach Guides Wine, is the author of AG Wine for Italy, Spain, Chile, Argentina, Australia, New Zealand, California’s Napa & Sonoma, and France’s Rhone Valley, Beaujolais, Bordeaux, Burgundy, Champagne, and Loire Valley. David pairs his keen research prowess with a passion for understanding the wines of the world. It is his vision that has shaped the app’s underlying organization and content direction. David is also the author of Approach Guides, a series of downloadable cultural travel guidebooks that take an in-depth look at key sites throughout the world, drawing connections among their history, art, and architecture.
